The White House has launched “Trump TV: The Essentials Station,” a 24/7 streaming channel on YouTube featuring speeches, administration events, announcements and selected footage related to President Donald Trump and his administration.
The launch came days after the White House barred journalists from CNN, MS NOW and Politico from accessing the White House. Reporters from the three organizations were denied entry and had their press credentials deactivated.
The three media organizations have since filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration, arguing that the restrictions violate their First Amendment rights. The White House has defended the restrictions and criticized the outlets' coverage.
The launch of Trump TV creates a direct White House-controlled digital channel for distributing presidential and administration content, while the dispute over access for the three news organizations is now also being addressed in federal court.
