Ethereum is trading around $2,495, up 1.19% over the past 24 hours, as investors evaluate whether the recent recovery can continue into the final months of the year.
Tom Lee believes Ethereum could reach $6,000 by year-end, with the forecast gaining attention as BitMine continues expanding its Ethereum holdings and strengthening the institutional demand narrative around ETH.
BitMine has continued its aggressive Ethereum accumulation strategy, recently adding more ETH to its treasury and increasing its total holdings to around 5.93 million ETH, representing approximately 4.9% of Ethereum’s total supply. The company’s large-scale accumulation has become one of the key factors supporting the bullish narrative around institutional demand for Ethereum.
However, reaching the $6,000 level by December would require a significant move from current prices. The target represents roughly 140% upside, meaning Ethereum would need strong additional demand, favorable market conditions, and continued institutional inflows to achieve such a move.
The broader market setup remains more cautious than the bullish headline suggests. Ethereum recently recorded its strongest monthly performance since mid-2025, but traders are now watching whether the momentum can continue as September trading conditions become tighter.
From a technical perspective, the $2,550 resistance level remains the key area to watch. A weekly close above this level could strengthen the bullish structure and potentially open the path toward the $2,800–$2,920 range.
For now, ETH remains in a consolidation range between $2,438 and $2,550, while ETF inflows and institutional accumulation continue supporting market sentiment. The $2,438 level remains an important support zone, and a break below it could increase downside pressure toward $2,310 and $2,220, near the 200-day moving average.
The key question now is whether Ethereum can break above the $2,550 resistance level and attract enough new capital to transform the current recovery into a major year-end rally.
