Strategy, the business intelligence company known for its aggressive Bitcoin accumulation strategy, has launched a limited collection of custom Bitcoin-themed Air Jordan sneakers through its online store.
The custom sneakers are priced at $250 and feature Bitcoin-inspired designs and branding elements. However, the shoes are not an official collaboration with Nike, as Strategy is customizing and selling the sneakers based on the Air Jordan 1 model.
The launch highlights Strategy’s continued effort to strengthen its connection with the Bitcoin community and expand its brand identity beyond traditional corporate activities. The company has become one of the most recognized corporate holders of Bitcoin, making cryptocurrency a central part of its market positioning.
However, the launch also created an interesting contrast. Despite building a large part of its corporate identity around Bitcoin, Strategy’s online store does not currently accept Bitcoin as a payment method. Customers can only complete purchases through traditional payment options such as bank cards and services like Apple Pay.
The move reflects the growing influence of Bitcoin culture beyond financial markets, with crypto branding increasingly appearing in areas such as fashion, merchandise, and consumer products.
For the broader crypto industry, the launch shows how companies are using Bitcoin as a brand identity and community-building tool. While direct cryptocurrency payments are still developing, Bitcoin’s influence continues expanding into mainstream culture and consumer markets.
The key question is whether Bitcoin-related products will remain mainly a branding strategy or whether companies will eventually integrate cryptocurrency payments more deeply into everyday commerce.
