Bitcoin climbed to $81,098.53, gaining 4.8% over the past 24 hours and moving above resistance near its 50-week moving average, a technical level that had remained a key focus during recent market activity.
The move marks a shift after Bitcoin struggled to establish a clear direction around $80,000. Earlier attempts to advance were met with selling pressure, but Thursday’s rally pushed the price back above the area. With the weekly candle still open, however, the breakout has yet to receive full confirmation.
On the daily chart, Bitcoin recently moved beyond its previous trading range before falling back inside it, creating what traders often describe as a failed or “busted” breakout structure. The latest recovery represents an attempt to reclaim that lost momentum, but the pattern alone does not confirm a sustained trend reversal.
The next major test sits between $82,000 and $83,000. A decisive break above that range, followed by sustained trading at higher levels, would strengthen the bullish structure and open the path toward the projected upside area near $90,000.
Failure to clear the zone, however, could bring renewed selling pressure. If Bitcoin continues rising while momentum weakens, the market could become vulnerable to bearish divergence and a deeper pullback toward the $70,000 area.
The immediate focus is therefore shifting from the $80,000 recovery to whether Bitcoin can break and hold above $82,000–$83,000. A successful move would provide stronger confirmation that the recent rally is developing into a broader breakout, while rejection would leave the current recovery vulnerable to another short-term reversal.
