The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is integrating Avalanche blockchain technology into its national digital identity platform, creating one of the largest government-focused blockchain use cases for the network.
The UAE’s Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) has partnered with Deca4 and Ava Labs to bring Avalanche technology to UAE PASS Digital Vault, a platform used by more than 12.5 million citizens, residents, and visitors.
Once launched, the system will allow users to securely store, request, and share verified government documents through blockchain-based verification. The platform provides access to more than 15,000 services across over 350 government and private sector entities.
Instead of using Avalanche’s shared network, the UAE will operate a dedicated Avalanche L1 blockchain, giving authorities greater control over network performance, security, and access management.
The technology will help verify the authenticity of digital documents such as trade licenses and academic certificates, reducing manual verification processes and improving efficiency.
Following the announcement, Avalanche’s native token AVAX rose more than 3%, trading around $7.48, while trading volume increased approximately 14% to $249 million.
The move highlights the UAE’s growing focus on blockchain-based infrastructure and comes as governments explore decentralized technology for digital services and identity verification.
