Grayscale announced a 3-for-1 share split for its Zcash ETF (ZCSH), reducing the price per share while increasing the number of shares held by existing investors. Under the adjustment, shareholders will receive two additional shares for every one share they currently own, with trading at the adjusted price expected to begin on September 30.
The split is designed to make individual ETF shares more accessible for smaller investors by lowering the nominal price of each share. For example, an investor holding 10 shares priced at $300 each would hold 30 shares priced at approximately $100 after the split. The total value of the position would remain unchanged, meaning the adjustment affects share structure rather than the underlying value of investor holdings.
The move does not represent a reduction in the price of Zcash itself. Instead, it is a structural change to the ETF’s share denomination, allowing investors to purchase smaller-priced units without changing their exposure to the underlying asset.
The share split comes as Grayscale’s Zcash ETF has recorded significant early demand since beginning trading on August 25. The fund has attracted more than $233 million in capital inflows, while its net asset value has reached approximately $890 million.
The strong asset accumulation highlights growing market interest in regulated investment products linked to privacy-focused digital assets. While the share split itself does not directly change market exposure or fund value, it could influence how retail investors perceive accessibility and participation in the ETF.
Market participants may continue watching the fund’s asset growth, investor demand following the adjusted share price, and whether additional activity develops around institutional access to Zcash-related investment products.
