Solana continues to trade under pressure below the $99 level, with sellers maintaining control of the short-term market structure and buyers yet to establish a convincing recovery. SOL was trading at $93.76, up 1.55% over the previous 24 hours, but the modest rebound has not been sufficient to reverse the declining structure visible on the four-hour chart.
The $99 level has become the first major obstacle for buyers. According to market commentary from More Crypto Online, reclaiming this threshold would improve the recovery outlook and bring the $103–104 resistance zone back into focus. However, a move above $99 alone would not confirm a broader reversal, particularly while sellers continue to generate lower highs.
Solana's recent price action reflects a market struggling to establish sustained upward momentum following its October decline. SOL previously retreated from the $107–108 region toward $100 before attempting several recoveries. One late-October rebound reached $103–104, but selling pressure emerged around that zone and pushed the asset lower.
The subsequent break below $99 weakened the recovery structure further. What had previously acted as a potential recovery threshold has now become an important resistance area. Buyers must reclaim this level to improve the technical outlook and demonstrate that demand is returning at higher prices.
The four-hour chart continues to show lower highs, indicating that successive recovery attempts have failed to generate sufficient buying pressure. Recent rebounds toward $94.50–95.00 and briefly toward $95.50 were unable to hold their gains, with SOL subsequently returning toward $93.80.
The $93.20 region represents an important near-term reference point. Holding above this area could provide an opportunity for another recovery attempt, although such a move would remain corrective unless buyers begin reclaiming higher resistance levels. A decisive break below $93.20, by contrast, could extend the current downward structure and expose SOL to additional selling pressure.
Trading activity also increased during the decline. Reported twenty-four-hour volume reached approximately $2 billion, representing an increase of 73.65%. The combination of higher activity and unsuccessful recovery attempts suggests that increased market participation has not yet translated into sustained buying strength.
This distinction matters because rising volume does not automatically indicate accumulation. When activity expands while price struggles to recover, it can reflect stronger participation from both buyers and sellers, with the prevailing price structure providing additional context. In Solana's case, the repeated failure to hold rebounds continues to favor the bearish interpretation.
Liquidation estimates provide another dimension to the current market structure. A thirty-day liquidation map covering Binance, OKX and Bybit identifies estimated short-position liquidation clusters in the $100–105 region.
At the $103.90 reference level, estimated cumulative short-liquidation exposure was approximately $415.39 million. The displayed exchange breakdown included around $7.10 million on Binance, $4.46 million on OKX and approximately $821,350 on Bybit.
These estimates highlight a concentration of leveraged short exposure above the current market price. If SOL reclaims $99 and buying momentum strengthens, an advance toward the $100–105 region could trigger forced short-position closures. Such liquidations could amplify an existing upward move by creating additional buying pressure as leveraged positions are closed.
However, liquidation concentrations should not be interpreted as reliable price targets or evidence that a short squeeze is imminent. They identify potential areas of leveraged-position vulnerability, not guaranteed future market activity. Without sustained demand, SOL could struggle to reach those levels regardless of the estimated liquidation exposure.
The downside structure also remains relevant. A failure to defend $93.20 could shift attention toward lower price regions, with $90 representing another reference area rather than confirmed support. This leaves the market facing two distinct scenarios: stabilization above the recent low followed by an attempt to reclaim $99, or renewed selling that extends the current decline.
For now, the technical balance remains tilted toward sellers. The immediate focus is whether buyers can defend $93.20 and build enough momentum to recover $99. A successful reclaim would improve the short-term outlook and reopen the $103–104 resistance zone. Until that happens, liquidation estimates above the market remain conditional opportunities rather than evidence of an approaching recovery.
