  • Dogecoin fell to roughly 96 satoshi per DOGE, a 40% decline against Bitcoin over the past twelve months.
  • About 13.54 million new DOGE are created each day, adding over $1 million in supply and inflating annual supply by roughly 2.9%.
  • On‑chain transactions dropped 41% year‑over‑year and institutional funds hold about $12.9 million, less than two weeks of new daily issuance.

Why it matters: These factors show Dogecoin’s continued underperformance versus Bitcoin and the supply‑demand imbalance that constrain its price recovery.

Dogecoin Falls to 96 Satoshi Against Bitcoin as Supply Growth Weighs on Recovery
DOGE$0.0766▲ 1.54%24h

Dogecoin has recovered nearly 6% from its election-night low in dollar terms, but its performance against Bitcoin continues to deteriorate. On November 4, DOGE traded around $0.0775, equivalent to approximately 96 satoshi, marking a decline of 40% against Bitcoin over the past twelve months. The latest data suggests that Dogecoin's recovery remains largely dependent on broader market movements rather than renewed demand for the asset itself.

The divergence becomes clearer when comparing both cryptocurrencies over the same period. On November 5, 2025, Dogecoin traded around $0.1625 while Bitcoin was valued at approximately $101,500, placing DOGE at 160 satoshi. By November 4, 2026, Dogecoin had fallen to approximately $0.0775, while Bitcoin traded above $80,600. The resulting exchange ratio stands at roughly 96 satoshi per DOGE.

In dollar terms, Dogecoin has lost approximately 52% over the year, compared with a 21% decline for Bitcoin. The difference highlights the extent to which DOGE has underperformed the broader crypto market. Its DOGE/BTC ratio reached a twelve-month high of 175 satoshi in November 2025 before entering a prolonged downward trend. Over the latest 30-day period alone, the ratio declined by nearly 14%.

This distinction matters because dollar-denominated price movements do not necessarily reflect an improvement in an asset's relative market strength. When DOGE and BTC rise by similar percentages, Dogecoin's dollar price can recover without gaining any ground against Bitcoin. That is precisely what happened during the latest market rebound.

Following the US midterm election results, both assets reached their daily lows before recovering. At approximately 4 a.m. German time, Dogecoin traded near $0.0732, while Bitcoin stood around $76,200. By Wednesday evening, both cryptocurrencies had gained approximately 5.8%. Ether performed better, advancing 8.5% and moving above $2,400.

For Dogecoin, the comparable rebound in Bitcoin meant that its relative valuation remained effectively unchanged. Rather than attracting stronger speculative demand, DOGE participated in a broader market recovery without improving its position against the largest cryptocurrency.

That distinction is important for assessing whether the recent price movement represents a meaningful change in market sentiment. Historically, speculative assets such as Dogecoin have sometimes outperformed Bitcoin during recovery phases as investors increase exposure to higher-risk cryptocurrencies. The latest rebound has not demonstrated that pattern.

Supply dynamics provide another explanation for the persistent pressure on Dogecoin's relative performance. Unlike Bitcoin, Dogecoin does not have a fixed maximum supply. Miners receive 10,000 newly created DOGE for each block, and network data recorded 1,354 blocks over the preceding 24 hours.

At that production rate, approximately 13.54 million new DOGE entered circulation in a single day. At the prevailing market price, this represents more than $1 million in additional daily supply.

With approximately 172.3 billion DOGE already circulating, the current issuance rate corresponds to annual supply inflation of roughly 2.9%. Bitcoin's annualized supply inflation has remained below 1% following its 2024 halving.

The difference does not automatically translate into equivalent selling pressure, since newly issued coins are not necessarily sold immediately. However, it increases the amount of new demand required to absorb additional supply without downward pressure on price.

This creates a structural challenge for Dogecoin. Even if broader market conditions stabilize, the asset must attract sufficient buying interest to absorb continuing issuance and establish stronger performance relative to Bitcoin. A recovery driven primarily by Bitcoin's direction may therefore be insufficient to reverse the longer-term trend.

Network activity offers additional evidence of weakening participation. Blockchair recorded 24,355 Dogecoin transactions over the preceding 24 hours. Separately, figures attributed to Dogechain showed approximately 156,972 transactions during the week beginning October 28, representing a 41% decline compared with the same period a year earlier.

Daily active addresses averaged approximately 32,659, down around 42% year over year, while new addresses declined by approximately 55%.

These figures suggest that fewer participants are interacting directly with the Dogecoin blockchain. However, on-chain activity should not be treated as a complete measure of market demand because a substantial portion of cryptocurrency trading takes place through centralized exchanges without generating individual blockchain transactions.

The decline nevertheless indicates weaker network participation and provides little evidence of expanding adoption capable of offsetting the asset's supply growth. The launch of a payment service by Dogecoin Labs in October has not yet translated into a visible improvement in the cited network activity figures.

The institutional demand picture also remains relatively limited. US Dogecoin exchange-traded funds collectively held approximately $12.9 million in assets in early November. Their cumulative net inflows since launch reached approximately $15.1 million, while the latest 30 trading days generated only $1.8 million in net inflows. No inflows were recorded on November 2.

The scale of these funds is particularly relevant when compared with Dogecoin's issuance. Their combined assets represent less than two weeks of newly created DOGE at the current production rate. Although fund assets and daily token issuance are not directly equivalent measures of buying pressure, the comparison illustrates the limited size of the institutional investment channel relative to continuing supply expansion.

Without a substantially larger and more consistent source of demand, the existing fund market is unlikely to become a decisive counterweight to Dogecoin's issuance dynamics.

From a technical perspective, Dogecoin is approaching an important test of whether its recent recovery can develop into stronger relative performance. The $0.0724 area provided short-term support during the election-night decline, while resistance emerged around $0.0792. DOGE reached approximately $0.0781 during the subsequent recovery but remained below that resistance.

A move toward the $0.083–$0.085 region would represent a further test of the recovery, while the $0.068 area remains an important downside reference. A daily close below the previous twelve-month closing low of approximately $0.069 would further weaken the dollar-denominated price structure.

However, the DOGE/BTC ratio offers a more direct measure of whether Dogecoin is regaining relative strength. At the prevailing Bitcoin price, 100 satoshi corresponds to approximately $0.0806 per DOGE. A sustained move above that threshold would indicate that Dogecoin is beginning to outperform Bitcoin rather than simply following its direction.

The recent twelve-month low of approximately 95.9 satoshi, recorded on October 26, also deserves attention. The subsequent recovery toward 98 satoshi demonstrated that buyers were willing to support the ratio near that level. A successful retest followed by a sustained advance could indicate the beginning of a stabilization phase. A break below the previous low, however, would suggest that relative weakness remains unresolved.

For leveraged traders, the narrow distance between current prices and nearby support levels creates an additional risk. A hypothetical 10x long position opened around $0.0775 could face liquidation near $0.070, depending on exchange-specific margin requirements and maintenance thresholds. A decline toward the election-night low would therefore leave such a position exposed to substantial liquidation risk.

Ultimately, Dogecoin's weakness is not simply a consequence of its declining dollar price. The more important development is its sustained underperformance against Bitcoin, combined with continuing token issuance, weaker on-chain participation and a comparatively small institutional fund market.

The next meaningful signal will be whether DOGE can move beyond 100 satoshi and maintain that level. Holding the recent low around 96 satoshi would suggest that selling pressure against Bitcoin is stabilizing. A sustained break above 100 would provide stronger evidence of improving relative demand.

Until that happens, a recovery alongside Bitcoin should not be interpreted as a reversal of Dogecoin's longer-term weakness.
