MEXC’s tokenized stock market delivered a powerful surge in September, with trading volume climbing 81% month over month and outperforming the exchange’s new-token and traditional finance spot markets. The figures, released on October 22, highlight the growing overlap between tokenized U.S. equities and crypto-native trading, as stock-themed meme tokens emerged among the platform’s leading assets.
The momentum extended across several markets. MEXC reported a 77% monthly increase in new-token spot trading volume and a 78% rise in TradFi spot volume, with tokenized U.S. stocks accounting for approximately 66% of the increase in TradFi activity. Newly listed tokens rose 15% from August, while the number of users trading new tokens increased 27%, indicating broader participation alongside higher volumes.

5 assetsStock-themed meme projects were among the biggest contributors to new-token activity. Seven of September’s top 10 tokens by spot trading volume made their MEXC debut during the month. Two projects, 4STOCK and MEMEROBINHOOD, accounted for approximately 38% of the combined volume generated by that top 10 group. Stock-related projects also featured prominently among the month’s leading gainers: MEMEROBINHOOD, SI, MOO and 4STOCK collectively represented around 67% of the trading volume in that ranking. Five distinct Stock Meme projects appeared across the two lists, three of which operate on Robinhood Chain.
The trend is also expanding beyond direct trading in tokenized shares. Stock-related assets are increasingly being used as quote assets in on-chain trading pairs, connecting tokenized equities with newly launched crypto projects. EMBER and BREW, both associated with launch platforms supporting such pairs, entered MEXC’s top 10 new tokens by spot volume.
Blockchain infrastructure developments added another dimension to September’s activity. Circle launched the Arc blockchain mainnet on September 16, and ARGUS, a token linked to a launch platform operating on Arc, began trading on MEXC that same day before finishing among the exchange’s top 10 new tokens by spot volume. Circle-related market activity also appeared in tokenized equities, with CRCL’s monthly trading volume increasing 103% and placing it fourth in MEXC’s TradFi spot volume ranking.
MEXC CEO Vugar Usi said the growing connection between stocks and crypto assets is reshaping how users participate in markets. He pointed to the ability of a single market theme to generate activity across both tokenized U.S. equities and on-chain new tokens, reflecting a broader convergence between traditional financial exposure and crypto trading.
The exchange’s xStocks Gala campaign also attracted substantial interest, drawing nearly 100,000 registrations. MEXC reported average daily trading volume above $3.4 billion during the campaign, which combined tokenized U.S. stocks with trading incentives. The exchange said it aims to expand access to cross-market opportunities through zero-fee trading and a wider selection of assets.
Meanwhile, MRVL and META entered MEXC’s top 10 TradFi spot assets by trading volume, recording monthly volume increases of 212% and 152%, respectively. Their arrival raised the number of tokenized U.S. stocks in the ranking from three in August to five in September. The broader trend was not limited to the top performers: more than half of the tokenized U.S. stocks listed on MEXC recorded at least double their previous month’s trading volume.
September’s figures suggest that tokenized equities are becoming more than standalone blockchain representations of traditional shares. On MEXC, they are increasingly connected to meme-token speculation, new-token launches and on-chain trading infrastructure. Whether this momentum continues will depend on sustained demand, market conditions and the development of tokenized-asset markets.
