Tesla has removed a reference to Dogecoin payments from the main payment and pricing support page for its online Tesla Shop, while several localized pages and a dedicated Dogecoin support page continue to reference DOGE as an accepted cryptocurrency for eligible products.
The removed statement previously noted that Dogecoin was accepted for selected Tesla Shop products. However, the same language remains visible on Tesla Shop payment pages for Spain, France, Italy, Portugal, Belgium and Denmark, according to the source.
Tesla’s dedicated Dogecoin support page also remains active. It states that customers can purchase eligible Tesla products marked with the Dogecoin symbol using DOGE and identifies Dogecoin as the accepted cryptocurrency on that page.
The differing information across Tesla’s support pages makes the current status of DOGE payments unclear. The removal from the main payment page could indicate a change in how Tesla presents the payment option, but the continued references on regional pages and the dedicated Dogecoin page do not establish that the company has discontinued DOGE payments.
Tesla has not issued an official statement confirming that Dogecoin payments have been suspended or ended for eligible products. As a result, the latest change should be treated as a modification to Tesla’s published payment information rather than confirmation of a complete termination of DOGE support.
The development is particularly relevant because Tesla has previously changed its cryptocurrency payment policy. The company had earlier suspended Bitcoin payments, with Elon Musk citing environmental concerns at the time. However, that historical decision does not establish that the current Dogecoin documentation change represents a similar policy move.
The next focus will be whether Tesla updates its remaining regional and dedicated Dogecoin support pages or issues an official statement clarifying whether DOGE payments remain available for selected Tesla Shop products.
