Sui Network’s native token, SUI, is facing continued price pressure despite a series of positive fundamental developments. The token declined 2.6% over 24 hours, extending its weekly losses to more than 10%, even as growing interest in the project pushed it among the most-searched cryptocurrencies. The divergence highlights a key question for investors: can improving network fundamentals translate into sustained buying pressure?
One factor drawing attention to SUI is Robinhood’s educational rewards campaign, which offers eligible users $5 in SUI for completing short learning modules about the Layer 1 blockchain. Meanwhile, Mysten Labs, the company behind Sui, has appointed Kevin Boon as its new CEO. Co-founder Evan Cheng expressed confidence in Boon’s leadership, marking a new chapter for the organization as it continues to develop the network.
Sui is also pursuing token buybacks funded by yield generated from its USDsui stablecoin reserves. According to the provided report, approximately 900,000 SUI tokens had been purchased since June 22, averaging around 7,600 tokens per day. If sustained, these purchases could provide an additional source of demand, although their impact depends on the scale and consistency of future buybacks relative to overall market activity. Separately, CME Group’s SUI futures recorded more than $253 million in notional trading volume during the third quarter, their first full quarter on the exchange, pointing to growing derivatives-market participation.
Despite these developments, price action remains the central concern. SUI has been correcting after reaching approximately $1.30 last month and is testing the $0.98 area, identified in the report as a key order block and recent higher low. Repeated candle rejections suggest buyers are attempting to defend this zone, but bearish momentum indicated by the MACD raises the possibility of a deeper pullback. If $0.98 fails, the next area of interest is around $0.84.
A more significant technical threshold sits near $0.6556. According to the report’s market-structure analysis, holding above this level would preserve the broader bullish structure, while a decisive breakdown could expose the $0.40–$0.50 demand zone. These levels represent potential scenarios rather than guaranteed price targets, and market conditions could change the outlook.
Ultimately, SUI’s challenge is converting positive developments into sustained spot-market demand. Educational incentives, leadership changes, buybacks, and expanding derivatives activity may strengthen the project’s profile, but they do not automatically reverse a downtrend. Traders may watch whether SUI can reclaim momentum above $0.98 or whether continued selling pushes the token toward lower support zones.
