Worldcoin (WLD) has overtaken XRP to become the most actively traded altcoin by combined 24-hour trading volume on South Korea’s leading cryptocurrency exchanges, Upbit and Bithumb. The shift highlights changing trading activity among South Korean crypto investors, with several other altcoins also recording substantial volumes.
Combined data from the two exchanges put WLD’s 24-hour trading volume at approximately $179.4 million, ahead of XRP’s $172.1 million. Although XRP has lost the top position in this volume ranking, the figures alone do not establish whether investors are becoming more bullish or bearish on either token.
SOON ranked third, with approximately $54 million in volume on Upbit and $26.2 million on Bithumb, bringing its combined total to more than $80.2 million. Sui (SUI) followed with $63.9 million, while NEAR Protocol (NEAR) recorded $63.1 million and Ondo (ONDO) reached $58.1 million.
Ethereum (ETH) generated approximately $46.8 million in combined volume, followed by Solana (SOL) at $35.5 million and Ethena (ENA) at $29.6 million. EDGE recorded $26.2 million, while META reached $25.5 million. ARX and ARK posted volumes of $22.9 million and $19.3 million, respectively, followed by AGI at $13.1 million and AMP at $9.6 million.
The figures show that trading activity across these exchanges is distributed among a range of assets rather than concentrated exclusively in XRP. However, trading volume measures transaction activity, not net capital inflows or price direction. A surge in volume can accompany buying, selling, or increased short-term speculation.
For market participants, the key question is whether WLD’s lead persists and whether elevated activity in SOON, SUI, NEAR, and ONDO is accompanied by sustained price movements. Further changes in exchange-level volumes could help identify which altcoins are attracting continued attention from South Korean traders, although volume alone cannot confirm a lasting shift in investor preference.
