Binance is preparing to discontinue several Ukrainian hryvnia (UAH) services, changing how users in Ukraine interact with local fiat currency and digital assets on the platform.
The exchange announced that it will stop UAH deposits and withdrawals through Fiat Trade UAH on September 28. Binance will also remove the USDT/UAH spot trading pair from its platform. The changes are scheduled to take effect at 09:00 UTC+2 on September 28.
Users holding UAH balances or active trading positions have been advised to review their accounts before the deadline. Binance will automatically cancel all open orders associated with the affected trading pair.
Eligible remaining UAH balances will be automatically converted into USDT by September 30 at 18:00 UTC+2. Binance stated that the conversion will use a fixed exchange rate of 1 USDT for every 46.5 UAH, meaning users with eligible balances will not need to manually complete the conversion process.
The removal of UAH services reduces a direct fiat-to-crypto pathway for Ukrainian users, who may need to rely on alternative methods for transferring local currency into digital assets.
Ukraine remains an important market for Binance, with millions of users accessing the exchange’s services. The platform has also recently expanded communication channels for Ukrainian users through WhatsApp.
The decision comes as cryptocurrency exchanges continue adapting to changing regulatory requirements across Europe. The European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) framework introduced new compliance standards for digital asset service providers, affecting how exchanges operate across European markets.
Binance’s latest adjustment reflects a broader trend among global crypto platforms as they review regional fiat services, regulatory obligations, and market infrastructure.
Market participants may continue monitoring how users transition to alternative payment methods and how exchanges adjust their regional offerings under evolving regulatory frameworks.
