Ethereum is attempting to stabilize around $2,250,but the broader technical picture remains bearish. ETH is trading below its key moving averages, while the recent breakdown of an important rising trendline has weakened the bullish structure. The market is also dealing with a major confidence shock following the reported $6.3 billion Binance security breach, which contributed to selling pressure across the crypto market. Ether fell to a two-month low near $2,178 during the selloff, showing how strongly the incident affected market sentiment.
The Binance incident is an important part of the current ETH outlook. The reported breach, uncertainty surrounding withdrawals and concerns about centralized exchange security have increased risk aversion among traders. Around $3 billion in affected assets was reportedly frozen, while Binance said it would cover customer losses. However, the full consequences of the incident remain uncertain. This uncertainty, combined with leveraged liquidations, has made it harder for buyers to regain control. Four consecutive days of outflows from U.S. spot ETH ETFs have added another source of pressure.
From a technical perspective, the $2,252 area is the immediate decision level. ETH is hovering around this pivot, and failure to reclaim it could leave the market vulnerable to another move lower. The first important support zone sits between $2,181 and $2,170. A decisive break below this area would increase the risk of a deeper correction toward the psychological $2,000 level. If selling accelerates and $2,000 fails to hold, the next major downside reference is around $1,850.
Momentum indicators also reflect the weakness. The daily RSI was reported near 29.35 in the latest available chart reading, placing ETH in oversold territory. This raises the possibility of a short-term relief bounce, but oversold conditions alone do not confirm a trend reversal. The broader structure remains vulnerable while price trades below the key moving-average levels around $2,336, $2,392 and $2,525.
On the bullish side, reclaiming $2,252 and holding above it would be the first sign that buyers are attempting to stabilize the market. A move through the $2,278–$2,294 resistance area could strengthen that recovery attempt. However, the more important challenge remains the $2,336 zone, where the broken trendline and a key moving average could now act as resistance. A sustained recovery above $2,400 would provide a stronger signal that bearish momentum is fading.
For now, Ethereum remains caught between oversold technical conditions and a negative fundamental backdrop. The Binance breach has intensified uncertainty, while ETF outflows and the breakdown in market structure continue to weigh on sentiment. The $2,170 support zone is the immediate level to watch. Holding it could create room for a recovery, but losing it would expose ETH to a deeper decline toward $2,000. Until Ethereum reclaims the $2,336–$2,400 resistance region, any rebound should be treated cautiously rather than as confirmation of a new bullish trend.
