Bitcoin has suffered a sharp sell-off, losing more than 4% within an hour and falling toward the $76,000 region. The sudden reversal has erased a significant portion of its recent recovery and placed the market back under intense selling pressure.
The latest available market snapshot puts BTC near $76,112, following an hourly decline of approximately 4.13%. The move is particularly significant because Bitcoin had recently recovered above $80,000, creating expectations that buyers might regain control. Instead, the latest decline suggests that the recovery was not strong enough to withstand renewed selling pressure.
On the 4-hour timeframe, the immediate technical picture has turned bearish. The sharp downward move indicates that sellers have regained control of short-term momentum. Bitcoin is now approaching the $75,600–$75,700 support area, which represents a critical zone for the current market structure.
If this support fails, the next important downside levels are around $74,500 and $73,800. A decisive break below $73,800 could expose BTC to another deeper correction, particularly if selling volume remains elevated.
However, a recovery is still possible. Bitcoin would first need to reclaim the $77,300–$78,000 region to demonstrate that buyers are returning. A stronger recovery above $79,000 would provide a more convincing signal that the latest breakdown may have been a temporary liquidity-driven move rather than the beginning of another sustained downward trend.
The daily timeframe also requires caution. Bitcoin's recent recovery has now come under pressure, and the market needs to defend its major support levels before a bullish outlook can be reconsidered. A daily close below the $75,600 area would significantly weaken the recovery structure.
The speed of the decline also raises questions about leveraged positions and potential liquidations. When Bitcoin loses important intraday levels rapidly, forced selling can intensify the move and create additional volatility. However, the available price data alone does not establish whether liquidations or spot-market selling were the primary cause.
The next critical level is $75,600. Holding above this area could create the conditions for a relief rebound toward $78,000. Losing it could open the door to another leg lower, with $73,800 becoming the next major downside target.
For now, Bitcoin is facing a decisive technical test. The market has shifted from recovery mode back into defensive territory, and buyers need to prove that they can stop the sell-off before another major support level gives way.
