The Swiss National Bank (SNB) kept its policy rate unchanged at 0%, in line with market expectations. The central bank projects inflation of 0.7% in 2026 and around 0.8% in 2027 and 2028.
The SNB also forecasts Swiss economic growth of approximately 1.5% to 2% in 2026, while maintaining a cautious stance toward developments in financial markets.
A key point in the latest decision is the SNB’s statement that it remains prepared to intervene in the foreign-exchange market if necessary to manage conditions involving the Swiss franc.
The central bank also warned that Middle East tensions and a potential increase in energy prices could contribute to higher inflation. The decision therefore leaves monetary policy unchanged while keeping global risks and currency-market conditions in focus.
