U.S. crypto ETFs recorded combined net outflows of $1.29 billion between October 5 and October 9, with Bitcoin and Ethereum products accounting for the majority of investor withdrawals. The latest flow data highlights a shift in short-term market positioning as major digital asset investment products faced sustained redemption pressure.
According to tracked ETF flow data, Bitcoin and Ethereum funds recorded a combined $1.22 billion in withdrawals during the five trading sessions. Additional outflows from Solana, Hyperliquid, and Zcash-related products pushed the total weekly decline even further, marking a broad-based reduction in exposure across several crypto investment vehicles.
Bitcoin ETFs experienced $678.9 million in weekly outflows despite returning to positive territory on Friday with a $21.1 million inflow. The largest single-day withdrawal occurred on Wednesday, when Bitcoin products lost $484.9 million, followed by another $244.1 million exit on Thursday.
At the fund level, Fidelity’s FBTC recorded the largest weekly withdrawal with $380.3 million in outflows, while ARK 21Shares’ ARKB followed with $207.2 million. BlackRock’s IBIT managed to finish slightly positive at $1.1 million after recovering from midweek withdrawals.
Ethereum ETFs faced even stronger selling pressure relative to their recent trend, recording five consecutive negative sessions and $542.2 million in weekly outflows. BlackRock’s ETHA accounted for approximately 88% of total Ethereum ETF withdrawals, with $477.1 million leaving the fund during the period.
The continued withdrawals from Ethereum products indicate a cautious approach among investors toward major altcoin exposure. While Ethereum remains one of the largest assets in the digital market, ETF flows suggest that institutional positioning has become more selective amid changing market conditions.
Beyond Bitcoin and Ethereum, Solana ETFs recorded $25 million in weekly outflows, led by Bitwise’s BSOL with $21 million in withdrawals. Zcash products lost $30.8 million, while Hyperliquid-related funds recorded $9.4 million in exits, showing that selling pressure extended beyond the largest crypto assets.
The latest ETF movements suggest that investors have been reducing exposure across multiple crypto categories rather than focusing on a single asset. Such broad outflows can reflect changing risk appetite, portfolio adjustments, or short-term caution during periods of market uncertainty.
Market participants are now watching whether ETF flows stabilize in the coming sessions and whether institutional demand returns after the recent wave of withdrawals. A recovery in inflows, particularly across Bitcoin and Ethereum products, could provide a clearer signal regarding renewed confidence among larger market participants.
